Fishing Trip: Social Fishing Trip

Time: 11h00 – 16h00

Weather: Sunny Day no clouds a slight breeze North westerly (Hope my direction is right)

Traces: Sliding Rietvlei

Weight: True Cast M2

Hooks: No. 10 Sensation Scuds

Feed: Hookit Special Mix and Popcorn added F.X. Bomb dip to feed on 2nd batch

Baits: Started with a white onion dough with Caramel Floro backing top hook and an orange coloured floatie on the bottom hook.

Changed both hook baits to orange coloured floaties as the day progressed.

Dips: No hook baits was dipped but I put Match Dip No. 7 (Eboney) on the bomb.

Bomb Dips Rod 1: Started with  Match Dip Bomb dip No. 20 (Red Garlic) and Match Dip Bomb dip No. 16 (F.X.) on the bomb as the day progressed I put Match Dip No. 7 (Eboney) on the bomb

Bomb Dips Rod 2: Started with Match Dip No.24 (Jade) and Match Bomb Dip No.3 ( Banjo) on the bomb as the day progressed I added Match Dip Bomb dip No. 16 (F.X.)

Distance: Fished at least between ± 80 – 100m with lines clipped in

Total Fish: 21 Fish landed also lost quite a few (Bullying Fish)

General Comments:

Caught my first fish after 30min upon arrival. In the beginning I waited for bites but later the tempo started setting in. The bites started off negatively and after 3-5 minutes they would take off with the bait.

Weather: Sunny Day no clouds a slight breeze South Easterly (Hope my direction was right) -4ºCMin – 10ºC Max

Traces: Sliding Rietvlei

Weight: True Cast M2

Hooks: No. 10 Sensation Scuds

Feed: Hookit Special Mix and Popcorn

Baits: Worms and White onion dough backing bottom hook and on the top hook an orange coloured floatie with aniseed white dough backing (Rolled into Dough)

Bait Presentation: Baits was not hooked into mielie bomb was left hanging loose

Rod 1 & 2: I put Super Dip No. 7 (Eboney) on the bomb  Match Dip Bomb dip No.20 (Red Garlic) and Match Dip Bomb dip No. 16 (F.X.) on the bomb.

Distance: Fished at least between 50 – 60m

Total Fish: 1 Fish landed also lost 2 fish.

General Comments:

Started fishing with both rods at 95 to110m, but no luck came back to 50 – 60m. Water much deeper on this side of the dam. It was a very difficult day for fishing as it was very cold (-4ºCMin – 10ºC Max).

General Comments:

Started fishing at a distance of 80 - 90m with clipped in lines, but with no luck as from 11h00 started fishing at a longer distance. Weighed the heaviest Carp for the day and also the biggest fish for the day.

General Comments:

When fish biting tempo decreased added a drop of Match dip no. 19 (Bloekom) on the bomb. On the Sliding Rietvlei trace was hanging loose. Dips and bomb dips which also came through was Match Bomb dip No. 16 (F.X.), Match Bomb dip No. 20 (Red Garlic)  and Match Dip no.7 (Eboney)

General Comments:

No baits were dipped very cold day in general, caught 10 under sized yellows which I had to release.

Bomb Dips Rod 2: Match Bomb dip No. 3 (Banjo), Match dip No. 18 (Cinnamon Delux) and from time to time substituted Match dip No. 18 (Cinnamon Delux) with Match dip No. 7 (Eboney) on Bomb

General Comments:

Although I won my zone for the day it was a very tough and cold day. I also caught at least 8 under sized yellows. No baits were dipped.

Feed: Hookit Popcorn

Baits: Plain white floaties top and bottom hooks

Dips Rod 1: Match Spray no. 1 (Vixen) and Match Bomb Dip 15 (Excalibur) on the bomb

Dips Rod 2: Match Dip No.27 (Gettafix) and Match Dip No.3 (Stuttafords) on the bomb later changed from Match Dip no. 3 to Match Dip no.36 (Astrix)

Distance: Fished at least between ± 95 – 120m lines not clipped in

Total Fish: 32 Fish landed also lost quite a few (Bullying Fish)

Traces: Sliding Rievlei and Vaaldam Trace (Changed to Vaaldam Trace later during the day)

Weight: True Cast 0 – 2 and a P3 on the Vaaldam Trace

Hooks: No. 1 Daichi Bottom Hook and No. 0.8 Daichi top Hook on Sliding Rievlei  and No. 1 Daichi on the Vaaldam Trace

Feed: Hookit Popcorn

Baits: Plain white floaties top and bottom hooks

Starting plan for the Morning Session:

Dips Rod 1: Match Dip no. 15 (KSB), Match Bomb Dip No. 24 (Eboney /Duiwelsdrek) and Match Bomb Dip No. 23 (Vatso) on the bomb. Top hook plain sweet dough hooked on to bomb. Bottom hook plain floatie with Duiwelsdrek dough dip in Duiwelsdrek and shake in Green Floresine Powder.

Dips Rod 2: Match Dip No. 42 (Pinksweets) and Match Bomb Dip No. 1 (Tanya) on the Bomb. Top hook plain sweet dough hooked on to bomb. Bottom hook plain  floatie with sweet dough Aniseed rolled into dough dip in Bunspice and shake in Green Floresine Powder.

Distance: Fished at least between ± 95 – 120m and further lines not clipped in

Total Fish: 12 Fish landed for a weight of 9,5kg

Afternoon Session plan:

Dips Rod 1: Match Dip no. 15 (KSB), Match Bomb Dip No. 24 (Eboney /Duiwelsdrek) and Match Bomb Dip No. 23 (Vatso) on the bomb. Top hook plain sweet dough hooked on to bomb. Bottom hook plain floatie with Duiwelsdrek dough backing dip in Duiwelsdrek and shake in Green Floresine  Powder.

Dips Rod 2: Changed Trace to Vaaldam Trace Top hook plain floatie with Caramel / Florosine backing dipped in Match Dip No. 5 (Banjo). Bottom hook plain floatie with sweet dough Aniseed rolled into dough dip in Bunspice. Put some Bunspice  and Match Dip No. 5 (Banjo) on the Bomb.

General Comments:

Caught my first fish after 60min upon arrival. In the afternoon session I just kept on casting further and further. I won my zone and I was also the overall winner for the day.
